I have been teaching for 4 years now, starting off with a K2 boy in preparation for his primary 1 education. Over the years I have tutor a number of POA students, of which all obtained an positive improvement of at least 3 grades. I self-prepare notes for POA as I believe that it makes student easier to understand the concepts and application method involves. I am now tutoring a Sec 5 Boy from Assumptions English School on POA and English and he scored 73.5/100 for his POA despite taking the exam for the first time (he dropped his other subject and took on POA in sec 5) He also scored a improvement for his EL, from D7 to B4. Another current student I am taking now is also for POA. She is in Sec 3 and scored a B3 in her recent exam.
I've had experience with younger students when I joined a voluntary programme conducted by NLB and it helped me to understand how the kids are thinking. By knowing that, it makes it easier to communicate and the younger students opening up to me means that they are now participating more actively in the lesson, enjoying it and learning more in the process.
